Texas Railroad Commission Sunset Bill Provides Regulatory Certainty for Oil & Gas Development and Support for State Economy
Austin, Texas – Today, the Texas State Senate approved passage of House Bill 1818 with a vote of 29-2. After failing to pass during two prior legislative sessions, House Bill 1818 renews the Texas Railroad Commission for 12 years.
The following is a statement from Ed Longanecker, president of the Texas Independent Producers & Royalty Owners Association (TIPRO), regarding the passage of House Bill 1818:
The Sunset Advisory Commission, supportive members in the Texas Legislature and Railroad Commissioners showed extraordinary leadership in supporting passage of House Bill 1818. Passage of House Bill 1818 will provide the regulatory certainty and oversight needed to support the responsible development of oil and natural gas in the state of Texas and the enormous economic benefits provided by this industry.
