TIPRO Advocacy Efforts

Long before the "Lucas Gusher" at Spindletop in 1901, independent operators were engaged in exploration and production activities across Texas. Although the discovery at Spindletop changed the oil and gas industry forever, the spirit of those independents has persevered through countless generations and in the face of great adversity.

Formed in 1946, the Texas Independent Producers & Royalty Owners Association (TIPRO) advocates to preserve that longstanding tradition of exploration and production by independent producers. The association is one of the oldest and largest oil and natural gas advocacy non-profit organizations in the state of Texas. TIPRO's more than 3,000 members include small family-owned businesses up to the largest publicly traded independent producers, as well as large and small mineral estates and trusts.

Whether it's working with federal authorities to prevent burdensome regulations, leading the charge on crucial legislation in our state capitol, or testifying before city council meetings on behalf of local members, TIPRO continues to serve as one of the most effective and respected organizations representing the Texas oil and natural gas industry.
